(329 words) The work of Alexander Blok was largely determined by the aesthetics of symbolism. In the days of literary activity, he expressed his views through many images, antithesis and metaphors. Everything is symbolic in the poet’s lyrics. But some images-symbols in the works of the author are given special attention.
One of the central was the image of the Eternal Wife, Queen. This was especially pronounced in the cycle "Poems about the Beautiful Lady" (1901-1902), which was influenced by the meeting of A. Blok with L.D. Mendeleev, as well as in the famous "Stranger" (1906-1908). The poet depicted the bride, beloved girl in verse as the earthly embodiment of the Eternal Femininity. The inspiration for A. Blok was the image of Hagia Sophia. The poet creates an unattainable, ideal, unchanging in her charm woman, widely uses the symbolic images and terminology of the philosophy of idealism of V. Solovyov. The creator thinks of himself as a minister, a knight, and a servant, who appeals to the Lady of the Universe, “Wife clothed in the sun”:
Oh Holy, how sweet the candles are,
How pleasing are your traits!
I don’t hear any sighs or speech,
But I believe: Sweetheart - You.
A. Blok’s work also features a revolutionary theme. The poet raises the theme of a “brutal” attitude towards the working class, creates a mystical image of a monster plant, absorbing human lives. In the poems there is a rejection of the “masters of life” (“Factory”), “the life of a terrible world”, poverty and the severity of bonded labor: “How hard is the work on every bent back”.
Also curious is the image of “thousand Russia”. The poet admires "spring without end and without edge", the transparency of autumn, Russian forests, lace of thin birches. The theme of the motherland is revealed in images-symbols of the path, road, distance, wind, perpetual motion, perpetual desire for the future. A. Blok with special intonation wrote about the "poor and native Russia" in the poem of the same name. The image of Russia culminates in the cycle “Homeland” (poems “Russia”, “Kite”, etc.) In the cycle “On the Field by Kulikovo”, the Homeland is presented as the supreme, highest value to which the whole life of the lyrical hero is dedicated. The Battle of Kulikovo is a symbolic event that is destined to return. The image of the homeland shows the poet’s deep connection with Russia, the people and domestic nature.
Thus, the main motives of A. Blok's work are love for the fatherland, love for the woman and feelings for the fate of the people. In vivid symbolic symbols, he expresses his reverent attitude to the highest values of human existence: to the homeland, beloved man and his people.
