(298 words) Teachers use different approaches to students in their work. Someone scolds them with strong words, someone appeals to shame and conscience, and some prefer not to notice the playful antics of the guys. But not Harlampy Diogenovich from the story of Fazil Iskander "The Thirteenth Feat of Hercules."
Harlampy Diogenovich - teacher of mathematics. He does not report students, does not read them notations, does not expel from class. Instead, the teacher uses a win-win option - it makes ridiculous students laugh in front of the whole class. And nobody wants to look funny. A student who violates discipline understands how ridiculous he is, and then he tries not to fall into the “trap”. The teacher applied his method to the hero on behalf of whom the narrative is being conducted. The boy was not able to solve his homework, and, having arrived at school an hour before the start of classes, he played football, instead of asking the excellent students how the problem is being solved. When the lesson started, the doctor and the nurse mistakenly looked into the class. The student decided to seize the opportunity, and convinced the doctor that their class should be vaccinated first. After everyone was vaccinated, Kharlampy Diogenovich, as he usually did before the call, began the story of an ancient Greek hero. But it turned out that the teacher tells the story of how one young man tried to accomplish the thirteenth feat of Hercules, not from courage, but from cowardice. It soon became clear that this was a storyteller. The teacher called him to the blackboard. The whole class laughed at the boy. And since then, he began to take homework seriously.
It seems to me that the teacher’s middle name was chosen for a reason. Diogenes is an ancient Greek philosopher. The patronymic "Diogenovich" indicates the wisdom of its owner. Indeed, Kharlampy Diogenovich is a wise teacher who uses laughter for educational purposes. Thanks to his method, the character is strengthened among students, children learn to treat themselves with humor. I think that Kharlampiy Diogenovich, as a real teacher, brought up in his students the most valuable thing - the habit of honestly fulfilling his obligations and a healthy sense of humor.
