(397 words) Our world cannot be called perfect, because countless vices and injustices flourish in it. As far as we know, it has always been so. But is there a way to change this? Many say that kindness can save mankind, but it has always been, like what makes the world worse. So, she did not change anything, although some good people tried to resist evil, and they succeeded. Therefore, if you learn to increase the kindness in the heart of every inhabitant of the Earth, then you can fix the mistakes that now spoil the lives of many of us. Consider literary examples to verify this.
In the novel “Crime and Punishment” by F. M. Dostoevsky, Sonya Marmeladova showed by her own example that one kind person can make a lot of difference in an unjust and cruel world. This girl sacrificed herself to save her family from starvation. She began to sell her body, but at such a terrible price she “bought” the life of her father, stepmother and her children. Upon learning of this story, Raskolnikov was shocked by the strength of the character of the stranger. When the young man personally met her, he realized that it was Sonya who could understand his mental torment. Rodion was not mistaken: the heroine was able to heal his soul by the power of her kindness. She persuaded him to surrender to the police and accept the punishment in order to redeem his guilt with suffering. Obviously, one kind girl was able to save many people and give them hope for a happy future. Hence, kindness can still overcome evil, but it lacks in multiplicity.
In the novel “The White Guard” by M. A. Bulgakov, Colonel Nai-Turs dismissed a detachment of cadets because he realized that their boyish strength could not be compared with the superior power of an adult and evil adversary. Petliura captured the city, took by storm, not sparing anyone in his path. His troops consisted of well-armed bandits. The crowd of yesterday’s graduates of military schools was threatened with brutal reprisal. Then the military took responsibility for the future of these young men and ordered to tear off all the insignia, run away from the field of slaughter and hide in their homes. This good deed saved the lives of dozens of boys, many managed to escape. The colonel himself was killed, and one of the rescued junkers, Nikolai Turbin, hurried to his family with tragic news. He supported the unfortunate women, remembering the merit of their relative. So, even in wartime, kindness can restore peace, but it lacks supporters.
Thus, kindness can change the world for the better, but for significant and widespread changes you need a lot of good, compassionate and merciful people, and not two or three people, as in the above literary examples. Only the massive adoption of moral, ethical and moral norms will help humanity overcome evil in all its manifestations.
