Song Four arranged a big trouble for Zhang, nicknamed the Greedy Womb
In antiquity, a certain Shi Chun was known for his infinite wealth. He got it on the occasion: he helped the old river dragon defeat the young. For this he received countless treasures as a reward. Only in vain did they boast of them. The sovereign was envied by a relative, and even desired his wife. By slander of the envious, the rich man was beheaded, and his wife, in order not to get to the villain, rushed from a high tower.
And our story is about another rich man who tried to live modestly, but still ended badly. His surname was Zhang, but for unprecedented stinginess he was nicknamed the Greedy Womb. Somehow, his clerks gave the beggar a couple of coppers. So the owner rushed after him and took alms. A certain thief named Song the Fourth conceived to punish a greedy man and robbed Zhang at night. Neither evil dogs, nor guards, nor cunning constipations and traps - nothing stopped him. Yes, and left his signature on the wall of the treasury. Detectives rushed after him in pursuit, only he outwitted them: he painfully deftly changed his appearance.
At the inn, he met his apprentice thief Zhao Zheng. He was planning to go fishing in the capital and, as a proof of skill, managed to steal a knot of prey directly from under the teacher’s head. Song was angry, but the rogue managed to repeat his trick and secondly robbed the teacher. Sun had to admit the student’s dexterity and even equip him with a letter of recommendation to a metropolitan acquaintance. He only advised him not to greet the student, but to lime him as soon as possible.
The cunning Zhao Zheng furtively read the letter, but did not back down. The family of acquaintances of Sun traded in the sale of pies with humanity. Killing them was no wonder. Only Zhao managed to put their own child in bed instead. It was his dad and chopped off with his own hand. He rushed in pursuit of Zhao, and a fight broke out between them. So the Fourth caught them.
They decided to work together and even bring to the business a certain Wang Xiu, nicknamed the Ailing Cat. The three of them robbed Prince Qian’s house, taking away the biggest jewel - a white jade belt. Detective Ma Han was assigned to search for the missing. But the impudent Zhao Zheng not only fooled the detective, but managed to transfer the paper with mocking verses into the hands of the ruler of the region, and even cut the pendants from his belt.
And one more thing the scammers decided to get rid of. The jade belt stolen from the prince was handed over to the unsuspecting Zhang, the Greedy Womb, as if in pledge. He at the sight of the jewelry easily fell for the bait. And they let the prince know where to look for the loss. The greedy was seized and brutally tortured. He promised in three days to indicate the one who brought him the belt.
Then the thieves informed Zhang that his own values could be found in the homes of detectives Ma and Wang Zun. They went there with a search and found the loot. Detectives were thrown into prison and tortured, but this did not lead to anything.
Since the belt was never found, the angry ruler ordered the Greedy Womb to indemnify the prince. He could not stand the terrible waste and strangled himself. The detectives soon died in the prison. But the fraudsters got away with it. True, this went on until Bao, who was nicknamed the Dragon Seal, was appointed the ruler of the region. But we will talk about this elsewhere.
